Garden Walk 2019 b

The second half of the Garden Walk is devoted to red, orange, yellow, and white flowers.

Red flowers run from deep, dark red to medium and lighter shades, and a number of
different flowers are employed.

The reds vary from single to double and short to tall.

These beds use "Rococo" Parrot Tulip, "Parade" single red, and "Patty Peppermint"
red and white.

"Rococo" Red Parrot Tulips

"King's Blood" Single Red Tulip had the purest red.

The lower plants here are Red Dianthus

"Peppermint Patty" and "Parade" Tulips

"El Nino" orange streaked tulips began to appear.  They are very tall, with stems
30 inches high.

"Orange Crush" Tulips

"El Nino" orange tulips and "Matador" red tulips

"Dalmatian Peach" Foxglove added vertical elements.

Foxglove comes in many colors, but the Gardens seem to like especially
these "Dalmation Peach" types.

To the left you can see the beginning of the yellow and white flowers.

"Party" Orange Tulips

"El Nino" are the darkest in color of these tulips; lighter varieties are called
"Beautiful Lady."

Orange to White flowers can be seen.

These orange tulips are photographed against the sun, and so the light comes
streaming through, creating interesting shapes.

"Jaap Groot" - yellow and white tulips

"Jap Groot" and "Hocus Pocus" Orange Tulips

"Smile" Yellow Tulip and "Hocus Pocus" red/orange tulip.

A sea of flowers.

The last beds are entirely in white on both sides.  There are five varieties of white tulips,
plus white daffodils and white dianthus.

The pointed tips are "White Medal" lily-like tulips, and the others are double
white daffodils.

White Dianthus, low-growing

Double White Daffodil, as large as a rose or a peony.

"Alexa" - single white tulip

"Exotic Emperor" - white tulip.  It spreads the petals out completely until it is
nearly as flat as a plate.

Beds of white, yellow, orange, and red flowers.

This was one of my favorites - "White Parrot Tulips" mixed with light blue grape hyacinths.
