Table Top with 12 Scenes of Rome in micro-mosaic.  About 4 feet in diameter.
I enjoyed this when I first saw it, and looked for it when I returned.  In vain.  It was
nowhere to be found.  I asked a couple of dealers, but they didn't know.  Finally,
I asked Mr. Melissa of Melissa Antiques, and he showed it to me in a side room.
He had bought it.  Indeed, it is of high quality and value.





"The Pantheon."  It is made of thousands of pieces of glass smaller than a grain of rice.
You can see them in the lower part of the image.  Made in Rome, probably Vatican workshops.

They would have been filled with food and placed in tombs at burial.





T'ang Dynasty Ceramic Tomb Figures.  9th century.  China.
The large horse in front is unusual in size; the two in rear are more typical.
In tombs of wealthy people, there could be 50-100 figures.
