Wynwood Murals 2019 - Part 2

Some artists are aware of their history and lineage and acknowledge it.  Cloe Hakakian, a
street artist from California, has for several years now presented a series of new cartoon-like,
but readily recognizable images of famous artists.  She got a degree in biology, worked in
scientific research for ten years, began medical school, and then decided what she really
wanted in life was to be an artist.  This is Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.

The Silver Statue.  This is a painting on a flat wall.

"Smoky."  This wall has several small murals.

"The Orchid."

Cloe Hakakian.  "Yayoi Kusama" and "Frida Kahlo."
Yayoi is a living 89 year old Japanese artist who always wears a red wig and paints
pumpkins and makes ceramic pumpkins, all of which she covers with dots.  She is wildly
popular and successful.  Frida was a Mexican Surrealist artist who painted her self-portrait
many times with large flowers and butterflies.  Immediately recognizable.

Cloe Hakakian.  "Salvadord Dali," "Yayoi," "Frida," and "Andy" with his soup cans.

Cloe Hakakian.  "Salvador Dali."  Note the moustache and the melting watches for
his eyes and body, from his famous painting.

Cloe Hakakian.  "Frida Kahlo."  The sidewalk is also painted
and is a part of the entire composition.

"Birds and Bugs."

"World's Collide."  Science fiction subjects are very popular.

Cloe Hakakian.  "Orange Butterfly."  Cloe covers the walls of a small dress shop in
Wynwood each year with her colorful murals.  It is on a corner, so she has a long side,
the curved front, and a little side wall.

Cloe Hakakian.  "Blue Butterfly."

Kobra.  "Boys Playing."  Brazilian street artist.

if someone could definitely identify them.)

There were tributes to a number of artists and musicians who died during the year.
This is a memorial to Stan Lee, the artist who created Spider Man and a number
of other super-heroes and is held in high regard by street artists.

"Clown Duck and Caviar."

Bushwick Collective.  "Come On . . .  What Do You Have to Lose."

Center of mural before it was defaced by vandals.  A large nude statue of Donald Trump in
orange plastic on the top of the building was also removed.
