Orchid Show 2019

The Fort Lauderdale Orchid Show and Sale just took place.  There are competitions for
individuals as well as display competitions for growers.  Then there are booths by
many growers offering thousands of orchids of every size, shape, and color for sale.
Many people come with carts, ready to buy four to six new orchids.  Prices range
from a few dollars for small, young plants not yet blooming, to $75 for large plants
covered with blooms.  The general range is $20 - $40 for a blooming plant.

This Red and Yellow Cattleya won an individual prize ribbon.

Pale Lavender individual prize winner.  Two of the people from my bridge club
won prizes.  The crowd of people was very large.

There are more orchid varieties than other other flowering plant on earth, and new
varieties are being developed every year.
