Flower Garden Walk

One of the centers for outside display of flowers is the Flower Garden Walk,
a path 1/3 mile long lined on both sides with 15 foot wide flower beds.
In the center is the Circular Fountain; in the back are a series of Japanese
flowering cherry trees covered with white blossoms.

To start our journey we walk past the "Dalmatian White Foxglove" flowers,
standing like sentinels.

"Dalmatian White Foxglove."  The Gardens develop especially large and
prolifically blooming varieties of flowers.

Then we follow the curving path past the Pink and White Hyacinths, whose
sweet aroma fills the entire area.

And then we start along the path.  In general, the flowers change in color from deep blue
and purple into blue and then lavender and then pink, then the Fountain.  We
continue with red and orange and yellow tulips, and finish up with the
All White Garden.  These are "Blue Diamond" and "Zurel" Tulips.

The purple tulips are especially beautiful.  And I prefer to photograph them lit from behind,
with the sun shining through them.  These are "Purple Flag."

Behind the "Purple Flag" are these, "Purple Prince."

"Grape Hyacinths" and "Horned Violas" fill one space between tulips.

"Albert Hejm" Tulips were featured.  They were a soft pink, with a blush of
tan/apricot.

"Foxtrot" Tulips were double pinks on a short stem.

"Jean Simmonds Double Ivory Tulips."

"Pink Parrot Tulips."  Parrot Tulips are distinguished by their frilly curved petals.
They are quite large, larger than normal tulips.

Tall foxglove, tulips, daffodils, and "Summer Snowflakes."

Branch of flowering cherry.  The trees were at their absolute peak - not a single unopened bud
nor a single fallen petal.  The trees were snow white.
