The Idea Garden consists of large rectangular beds containing 200-500 each of various
tulips, mostly new varieties, so visitors can see and enjoy them and perhaps wish to
have them in their gardens next year.
Every color and shape and form is displayed, so you can find anything
you might like to have in your garden. The color is explosive.
White Flowering Crabapple Trees were along the side of the beds.
"Menton" was a beautiful pink/peach single tulip.
"Antoinette" was a smaller, cluster tulip, with four or five blossoms on a single stem.
If you look closer at "Antoinette," you will see streaks of pink and red.
This photo was shot about noon, with an even high light.
"Antoinette" at 3:30 with a much lower sun shining through the blossoms and
displaying the pink and red splashes much more clearly.
"Dance Line" - double white tulips with specks of red. When I saw them the first day,
they were pure white with little marks of deep red. Three days later they were gradually
turning pink and strawberry color.
"Dance Line Tulips" - pure white, the first day. Double late tulips.
On the third day, the blossoms were turning pink and strawberry. Delightful.
Many beds of tulips. In the foreground are "Jaap Groot" (white and green)
and "Don Quichotte" (strong pink).

One of the most beautiful new tulips was "Sunset Miami" - a fringed tulip.
Down here in South Florida this time of the year, we get a golden sunset like
the color of this tulip most evening
But an even better photo at 3:30 with setting sun shows streaks of orange and
pink and violet, which begin to enter the sunset - "Sunset Miami Fringed Tulip."
The beds and colors go on and on. On the left is "Irene Parrot Tulip" and on the
right is the "Lily-like Yellow Flashback Tulip."
"El Nino" - large single tulips where each one has different shades of orange.

"Don Quichotte" pink tulips with the sun shining through them.
"Don Quichotte" - the most beautiful of the pink tulips.
A bed of mixed flowers - "Menton" Tulips, "Large Cupped Daffodils,"
and "Pale Blue Grape Hyacinths."

There were five sub-varieties of "Pink Parrot" Tulips; this was another one.
