FL Orchid Show 2020 b

The Fort Lauderdale Orchid Show and Sale took place recently.  It consists of a
competition for best individual flowers by individuals and best formal exhibit of 100, 150, or 200
square feet. Prizes are awarded.
The orchids on sale at the show are usually less expensive than in stores, and the variety
available is certainly the greatest you could find anywhere, so many people come each year and buy one or more orchids for their collection.

in their yards.

FL Orchid Show 2020

The annual Fort Lauderdale Orchid Show and Sale was held last week at the city's
Convention Center.  Twelve large display exhibits, prepared by orchid vendors,
were in the center of the room and vied for prizes.  All around the outer walls were
vendor booths offering orchids for sale as well as materials for growing orchids.
These are a few photographs I took.

"Jennifer Lee"
There are more varieties of orchids in the world than any other flower.  At the show, there
were more than 2,000 varieties on display and for sale.  You had great choice of size,
shape, color, aroma or not.

Bearded Chartreuse Orchid

who breed them specially.

A vendor booth with hundreds of orchids for sale.  They came in all sizes and prices.
Many people bring special carts to safely bring their treasures home as they buy a couple
new orchids each years.  Vendors came from all over Florida and California, as well as
Hawaii, Taiwan, and  Japan.

One of the display exhibits.  You can see that this display won several blue ribbons.
There were various size of display categories, plus all the individual varieties of orchids.
