Poinsettias in Chicago

Chicago is blessed with two large flower conservatories, Garfield Park on the West Side and

Lincoln Park on the East Side.  At this time of the year, they have beautiful poinsettia shows.

Garfield Park emphasized new varieties, and Lincoln Park created a whole world around

miniature trains and poinsettia plants.

The central path in the Showroom Conservatory.  This year they also expanded poinsettias

into the Great Palm Court and the Exhibition Hall.

These days poinsettias are bred in hundreds of different colors with different leaf 

forms and colors also.  These are "Gracious Pink."

Each petal has different blotches of white on pink.

"Holly Poinsettia" has petals and leaves strongly notched like an ivy plant.
